About event
On March 13–14, the Lviv Cultural Hub, established with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), a member of the EU National Institutes for Culture network, hosted colleagues from Denmark and Poland.
EUNIC is a European network of organizations engaged in cultural diplomacy, fostering international relations through culture. One of the key tools of this work is the mobility program, which enables professionals from cultural institutions to exchange experiences, learn new approaches, and build partnerships.
📌 The visit program covered both the architectural and cultural landscape of Lviv—a city that has become a cultural refuge for artists and organizations from across Ukraine.
We began with a walk through the historic city center together with the Head of the Heritage Bureau in Lviv, exploring the challenges of preserving cultural heritage under the threat of war.
We also visited institutions shaping the contemporary cultural environment of Lviv:
✔️ The Lviv Cultural Hub – a platform for cultural initiatives.
✔️ The youth center network TVORY, which supports youth activism and talent development as part of the initiative “Lviv – European Youth Capital 2025.”
✔️ The independent art space Green Sofa Gallery, actively contributing to the development of contemporary Ukrainian art.
✔️ The Lviv National Opera for a concert by Kyiv Tango Orchestra, which blended Ukrainian and global music traditions.
The next day focused on strategic cultural initiatives:
📍 The Institute for Cultural Strategy shared its vision for the city’s development.
📍 The First Lviv Mediateka library network discussed its role in promoting reading.
📍 Visits to Jam Factory Art Center and the Lviv Municipal Art Center highlighted current processes in Ukrainian and international art.
📍 The program concluded at the Habilitation Center, which works with people with disabilities, post-amputation patients, and those with severe injuries, helping them adapt to new life conditions and develop self-care skills.
This visit reaffirmed that Lviv is not just a cultural capital but also a space of resilience, strength, and international cooperation.
We thank all our partners for the meetings and inspiring discussions!
