About Lviv Culture Hub

Our history

Lviv Culture Hub is implemented by UNESCO with the support of AECID in partnership with the Lviv City Council, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and the National Commission for UNESCO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The premises of the Lviv Culture Hub are located at the address of Kniazia Romana Str., 6. The building was built in 1912–1913 according to the project of the architect Adolf Piller. According to its purpose, it was a tenement house owned by merchants Ludwik Stadtmüller and Karol Czudżak (shops and workshops were located on the first floor, a restaurant on the second floor, and residences - above).

The building is an example of early modernist architecture, combining Art Nouveau, Neo-Gothic, and Art Nouveau motifs. This is an architectural monument of local importance (Protection number 1199-М), known to Lviv residents as the "House of Lviv Radio".

As a matter of fact, today the municipal enterprise "Lviv Radio" works here, embodying cultural initiatives of a multidisciplinary nature, in particular, in the renovated space on the ground floor called "Radio Garage".

Co-working room

Our co-working room is designed to accommodate individuals or groups working on cultural projects, offering a shared workspace for creativity and collaboration.

Large hall

The spacious hall, designed for events with up to 50 participants, provides excellent facilities for conferences, lectures, and other cultural events.

Smaller hall

For more intimate gatherings of up to 30 participants, our smaller hall offers a suitable setting for various events and activities.

Podcast studio

Our podcast studio is well-equipped and specially designed for simultaneous translation, making it an ideal space for international collaborative projects

Our functions

Our project provides opportunities for funding, skills improvement and development, but also a location for lectures, exhibitions, trainings and workshops, etc., which will be available to other organizations and initiatives.

Under the coordination of such international organization as UNESCO the Culture Hub is able to use expertise, developed practices and opportunities for cooperation with the best world institutions.

Capacity Building in Cultural Heritage Preservation

Reinforce the capacities of personnel of public and private institutions working in the field of culture, including museums, archives, and libraries, through the provision of training and mentorship programs on the protection and safeguarding of cultural heritage.

Educational Materials for Cultural Promotion

Development or adaptation of educational materials on the protection and promotion of culture in all its forms.

Preservation and Integration of Living Heritage

Provide support to bearers and practitioners of living heritage, such as traditional crafts and performing arts, to ensure the transmission and integration of living heritage into education and community networks aiming to foster its preservation and continuity.

Supporting Creative Industries' Professionalization

Support the growth and professionalization of creative industries by offering business development resources and mentorship programs to artists and culture professionals to promote their economic sustainability and contribution to the cultural sector.

Space for Artistic Expression and Exhibition

Provide a space for artists, musicians, and other culture professionals to organize work and exhibit.

Literary Promotion and Scholarly Support

Organize literary events, workshops, and publications to promote literature and provide support to aspiring writers, encouraging academic excellence and fostering the dissemination of scholarly works.

Cultural Activities for Community Resilience

Organize cultural activities to strengthen the resilience of affected communities and their post-war rehabilitation and recovery.

Research and Advocacy for Cultural Policies

Support research and advocate for evidence-based cultural policies at the local, regional, and national levels to contribute to the development of comprehensive governance frameworks and cultural policies that support the growth and sustainability of the culture sector

Promoting Culture through Media Collaboration

Promote culture through collaboration with journalists by organizing campaigns and other events to raise awareness, foster appreciation for cultural diversity, and create platforms for dialogue and engagement.
