Walls Remember: Myroslav Skoryk

Lviv Culture Hub, together with pianist Marta Kuziy, invites you to the next event in the “Walls Remember” series!

The previous event was dedicated to composer and folklorist Stanislav Liudkevych. This time, we invite you to discover the work of his student, Myroslav Skoryk, one of the most renowned and influential composers of the second half of the 20th century. The maestro had a long-standing relationship with Lviv Radio, contributing to numerous programmes, recordings, and broadcasts — and even inspiring an entire orchestra!

Special guest: violinist Artur Mykytka, a longtime friend and kindred spirit of Myroslav Skoryk.

Moderator: Ostap Manuliak, composer, Head of the Composition Department at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy, and member of the House of Sound team at Lviv Radio.

The “Walls Remember” project combines a lecture format with live musical performance. Alongside a conversation and Marta Kuziy’s performance of Skoryk’s compositions, the audience will hear digitised recordings from his musical legacy, provided by Lviv Radio and Suspilne Mediateka, as well as archival video footage from the collection of the City Media Archive at the Center for Urban History.

📍 17 October, 17:00–18:30

📍 Lviv Culture Hub, 6 Kniazia Romana Street, 2nd floor

📍 Free admission with registration.

This activity is implemented by Lviv Culture Hub as part of the UNESCO programme, with the expert involvement of Marta Kuziy, in partnership with Lviv Radio (Culture and Technology Network), Suspilne Mediateka, and the Center for Urban History, with financial support from AECID.
