About event
On August 26–27 and 29–30, training sessions for museum professionals from across Ukraine were held at the Lviv Cultural Hub. The events were part of a UNESCO program aimed at strengthening the State Registry of the Museum Fund of Ukraine through systematic digitization of collections and the implementation of modern digital tools.
Over the course of two two-day sessions, participants:
🔹 studied methods of inventorying and maintaining electronic databases;
🔹 explored practices of 3D documentation and cultural heritage preservation;
🔹 mastered tools for the digital transformation of museums and integration into the national Registry;
🔹 worked in groups, shared experiences, and built professional networks.
The program includes lectures, workshops, group discussions, and expert support. In particular, the second phase of the project foresees the work of mobile teams that will digitize museum collections in at-risk regions.
The event was organized by UNESCO and the Lviv Cultural Hub in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications, with expert support from the Ukrainian Heritage Monitoring Lab (HeMo), as part of the project “Advancing Digital Integration: Strengthening Ukraine’s State Registry of the Museum Fund through Museum Digitization”, funded by the Government of Flanders.
We thank all participants for their engagement and contribution to the development of the museum field! Together we are taking an important step toward the preservation and promotion of Ukrainian cultural heritage in the digital age.
