Cultural workers play a unique role in preserving humanity, unity, and collective memory. As we approach the end of a challenging year, we invite you to join a programme designed to strengthen participants’ inner resilience through emotional awareness, burnout prevention, and the practice of nonviolent communication. The programme aims to support the creation of communities where culture becomes a space of care rather than competition—where caring for oneself is the foundation for caring for others.

Our event will be most relevant for staff of cultural and educational institutions—administrators, receptionists, cultural and education professionals who work directly with visitors, organise events involving multiple stakeholders, support team-building within their organisations, or implement programmes for veterans and internally displaced people.

Aligned with UNESCO’s strategic vision of culture as a driver of peace and resilience, this training will create opportunities to:

  • strengthen social bonds and trust within institutions and communities;
  • prevent burnout and emotional fatigue, which often accompany cultural work in times of crisis;
  • promote dialogue, empathy, and nonviolent communication as everyday cultural practices;
  • transform cultural institutions into safe, human-centred environments that embody the values of peacebuilding, dignity, and solidarity.

Participants will gain:

  • Increased awareness of emotional processes, triggers, and sources of burnout.
  • Practical tools for restoring motivation and inner balance.
  • Enhanced ability to communicate with empathy and respect.
  • Familiarity with conceptual models (Plutchik’s Wheel of Emotions, Nonviolent Communication, and emotional literacy tools) for managing misunderstandings and maintaining connection in complex interactions.
  • A supportive peer network for potential future collaboration.
