"PRESTEXT" is an innovative project that explores new possibilities for the use of Cyrillic type.

On April 4, the Lviv Cultural Hub hosted the opening of “PRESTEXT” — a cutting-edge exhibition dedicated to investigating Cyrillic script as an artistic phenomenon. The author of the project, artist and researcher Volodymyr Klyonov, set out to reimagine the typeface as a gesture, a technology, and a component of visual art.

The exhibition brought together art, typography, and digital technology, revealing new dimensions in the perception of Cyrillic script. The display featured visual experiments, installations, and interface solutions that showcased the typeface as a powerful expressive medium, capable of generating visual narratives and communicative emphasis.

Throughout the month, the exhibition remained open to visitors during the Hub’s working hours, becoming a platform for discussing contemporary forms of typography, the interplay of text and meaning, and the role of Cyrillic in the digital age.

The exhibition concluded on May 19 with a guided tour by Volodymyr Klyonov — a final opportunity to experience the project firsthand and engage in conversations about the future of Cyrillic design. “PRESTEXT” not only presented the typeface as an artistic object but also opened a space for interpretation, experimentation, and the emergence of new meanings.
